Celebrating Love

Cathy KempBlog

This weeks funerals brought different elements of love together for the two funerals that I officiated. The first saw an almost full chapel with some late arrivals, spliffs before and after, tears and laughter in equal measure for a young man who died only part-way through his life.

At the second we had an intimate group of 7 family members, 2 care staff, organist, FD and myself, all perfectly on time, tears and laughter throughout as we said goodbye to a lady who had lived her life to the full in her 91 years.

There’s a common theme you will see that runs through the services that celebrate the life lived, but no matter the number of people attending all are affected by the death of their loved one. As Celebrant my role has assisted in bringing their stories together and celebrating the love shared.
